GENERAL INFORMATION

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the following policies and procedures. Should you have specific requests, questions or require additional information, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Golf Course Check-In

Golfers should always check-in for play at the pro-shop at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled tee time. Players that arrive late forfeit their reserved tee time and are subject to a time later in the day if available.

Pace of Play

Inclement Weather

Weather and conditions vary greatly due to the mountains in the area. It may be raining in the metropolitan area but not in and around Owl’s Head. Unless the course is closed to play, tee times must be honored. If there is any question about current weather, please call ahead.

Speed of Play

The standard is a maximum of four and a half hours for a four ball game and a maximum of four hours for a two or three ball game. Please keep pace.

Divots, Ball Marks and Bunkers

Naturally, we expect all players to replace divots, repair ball marks on the greens and rake the bunkers after playing their shots. Please place the rakes inside the bunkers when you are finished raking.

Lost Balls

If adversity strikes and you need time to find your ball, please remember the pace of the game and use a reasonable time to keep pace with the group in front of you.

Carts

Hand Carts must not be pulled between bunkers and greens.

Power Carts

All power carts are required to maintain the 90° rule on the fairways. If the cart path rule is in effect all individuals must adhere to this unless otherwise authorized by the course Marshall. No cart may be taken within 30 feet of the perimeter of any green or within 10 feet of the edge of any tee. Drive outside the white stakes in front of the greens. Avoid, as much as possible, driving in soft ground or in the wheel marks of other carts, particularly in the first cut of rough. Golf cart operators are individually liable for damages to cart or club property. Any incident or injury should be reported to the golf course staff as soon as possible. It is each golfer’s responsibility to read and adhere to specific rules for golf cart use and safety.
