Team leader – Snowmaking and mountain maintenance

Reporting to the Mountain Supervisor, the Team Leader – Snowmaking and Mountain Maintenance is responsible for managing the snowmaking and summer maintenance teams in the ski area. He/she ensures that the equipment works properly and that everyone is safe.

- Starting hourly wage : 20.90$;
- Permanent, full-time position;
- Variable schedule: day, evening, night and weekends.

Main tasks
MAIN TASKS
Winter season
- Handle and position equipment and snow guns;
- Check and ensure proper operation of equipment;
- Judge the quality of snow produced;
- Check snow guns in operation on the mountain;
- Apply the snowmaking strategy established in collaboration with the mountain supervisor;
- Ensure snow removal and maintenance of pedestrian and vehicle traffic areas;
- Mobilize, organize and coordinate the work team;
- Ensure that team members work safely, in accordance with company and industry rules and policies;
- Participate in developing and implementing training programs;
- Carry out any other task assigned by his/her immediate superior and necessary for the smooth running of the company.
Summer season
- Entretenir les pistes et le site de la montagne (niveler les pistes, ensemencement d’appoint, entretien des ponts et des passerelles, dégagement des ponceaux et des rigoles de drainage, contrôle des sédiments et de l’érosion);
- Effectuer de l’abattage et du débroussaillage sur le territoire de DOH;
- Effectuer des transports d’équipements et de personne sur la montagne à l’aide de différents types de véhicules;
- Entretenir les équipements du système d’enneigement;
- Effectuer toute autre tâche pouvant lui être assignée par son supérieur immédiat et nécessaire au bon fonctionnement de l'entreprise.
Requirements, skills
and qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (asset)
- Demonstrate good leadership and a positive and engaging attitude
- Ability to work outdoors with varying temperatures (hot or cold)
- Be in good physical shape
- Ability to lift and carry loads up to 20 kg consistently
- Experience in a similar position
- Valid driver’s license
- Autonomy and ability to solve problems
