Owl’s Head Golf Club is surrounded by nature and located at the foot of the western slope of Mount Owl’s Head. The course designed by internationally renowned architect Graham Cooke offers exceptional views and provides golfers of all skill levels an unforgettable experience. The field stone pavilion with BC pine beams is simply magnificent and provides a warm atmosphere for guests.

Since 2018, the golf club is a part of Destination Owl’s Head and has benefited from major investments that have resulted in an increase in clients and membership. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work year-round by combining employment with the Owl’s Head ski resort.

MAIN TASKS

  • Assist in the management of the maintenance of the golf course, including the adjacent property;
  • Assist in the management of on course workers, including hiring assistance, training, security, employee supervision and schedules;
  • Make recommendations to the Superintendent on the daily condition of the golf course;
  • Practice and apply all aspects of Destination Owl’s Head maintenance and health and safety policy;
  • Assume the role of the manager if he is outside or in a meeting;
  • Assist in the training of personnel on machines, including safety procedures;
  • Maintain buildings, equipment, and property in a professional manner;
  • Contribute regularly and accurately to the superintendent’s fertilizer management practices.

 

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience of work in a golf club (asset);
  • Experience as an Assistant Superintendent (asset);
  • Minimum of 2 years of formal education, or a university degree or college diploma in lawn management or is in the process of obtaining it;
  • Experience in calibrating and applying fertilizer and pesticides;
  • Have a valid Quebec pesticide license or obtain one within 3 months;
  • Flexibility, professionalism, and great attention to detail;
  • Autonomous, great sense of organization and good management of priorities;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Bilingualism both oral and written.

Building maintenance attendant

Seasonal – Full time – Part time – On call

The building maintenance worker is responsible for maintaining the interior of the main ski chalet in order to maintain an outstanding customer experience. Without limitation, the attendant will be called upon to:

MAIN TASKS

  • Clean washrooms, eating areas, locker rooms and all other functional rooms in the building;
  • Ensures the supply of sanitary facilities (hand paper, soap, etc.);
  • Empty garbage and recycling garbage cans throughout the site;

Team leader - Ski lifts

Seasonal – Full time

Reporting to the mountain supervisor, the team leader manages his or her work team at the lifts, in collaboration with the second team leader. He ensures the smooth operation and safety of the attendants and operators. Without limitation, the team leader will be called upon to:

 

MAIN TASKS

  • Organize and coordinate the work team of lift personnel (attendants and operators);
  • Approves and transmits the time sheets of the personnel in his/her department;
  • Participate in the hiring process of the personnel of his/her team;
  • Facilitates and mobilizes the team;
  • Ensure the follow-up of training sessions;
  • Ensure that the personnel of his team always work safely, according to the rules and policies of the company and the industry;
  • Ensure good communication with the various departments;
  • Assist the mountain supervisor in managing the operation of the ski lifts according to the established policies and procedures;
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor and necessary for the proper operation of the business.

 

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma (asset);
  • Knowledge of the ski area (asset);
  • Experience in team management, minimum 1 year;
  • Demonstrate good leadership skills;
  • Demonstrate a positive and mobilizing attitude;
  • Have a good sense of organization and planning;
  • Bilingualism (French and English);
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

Ticket verification attendant

Seasonal – Full time – Part time – On call

Reporting to the customer service supervisor, the attendant will make sure that customer accessing the ski lifts have a valid ski ticket for the current day in visible and accessible places. Without limitation, the ticket verification attendant will be called upon to:

 

MAIN TASKS

  • Provide access control to users with a valid ticket or subscription;
  • Ensures and monitors the proper operation of lift access terminals by performing spot checks;
  • Assists the lift attendant or operator as required;
  • May manage line-ups and assist in the placement of people;
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor that are necessary for the smooth operation of the business.

 

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma (asset);
  • Ability to stand upright throughout the work period;
  • Ability to work outdoors in cold temperatures;
  • Bilingualism in French and English;
  • Customer service skills;
  • Professional attitude and behaviour;
  • Autonomy, resourcefulness and good professional judgment;

Waiter / Waitress

Seasonal – Full time – Part time – On call

MAIN TASKS

Reporting to the Food and Beverage Supervisor, the waiter welcomes, guides, informs, and advises guests on food services (including the bar), products and menus. He takes orders and serves in Owl’s Head dining rooms both golf and skiing. More specifically and without being limited to, the waiter will be called to:

  • Welcome clients;
  • Present the menu, make suggestions, and answer questions about food and beverages;
  • Take orders and pass them on to the kitchen and bar staff;
  • Recommend matching wines to the ordered foods;
  • Serve the food and drink ordered;
  • Receive and handle customer complaints;
  • Enter order in the computer system;
  • Present invoice to clients and collect the amounts due before the client leaves.

 

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Secondary School Diploma DES (asset);
  • A diploma of professional studies (DEP) in catering service (asset);
  • Minimum experience of (six) 6 months in catering (asset);
  • Strong aptitude for customer service;
  • Speed ​​of execution, accuracy, stress resistance;
  • Physical endurance and ability to work long hours;
  • Arrangement to follow a flexible work schedule (including weekends);
  • Bilingualism (French and English).
