Assistant superintendent

Owl’s Head Golf Club is surrounded by nature and located at the foot of the western slope of Mount Owl’s Head. The course designed by internationally renowned architect Graham Cooke offers exceptional views and provides golfers of all skill levels an unforgettable experience. The field stone pavilion with BC pine beams is simply magnificent and provides a warm atmosphere for guests.

Since 2018, the golf club is a part of Destination Owl’s Head and has benefited from major investments that have resulted in an increase in clients and membership. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work year-round by combining employment with the Owl’s Head ski resort.

MAIN TASKS

  • Assist in the management of the maintenance of the golf course, including the adjacent property;
  • Assist in the management of on course workers, including hiring assistance, training, security, employee supervision and schedules;
  • Make recommendations to the Superintendent on the daily condition of the golf course;
  • Practice and apply all aspects of Destination Owl’s Head maintenance and health and safety policy;

Building maintenance attendant

Permanent – Full time

 

Under the supervision of the Real Estate Project Manager, the Building Maintenance Attendant will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the Owl’s Head Destinations properties including the ski chalet and clubhouse. Without being limited to this, you will be called upon to:

 

MAIN TASKS

  • Perform various routine maintenance tasks: Touching up paint and plastering, minor plumbing repairs, ceramic repairs, etc.;
  • Conduct inspection tours of properties to determine if repairs of preventive maintenance are required;
  • Do service calls to different suppliers;
  • Take the appropriate initiatives and/or collaborate with our suppliers to correct problems;
  • Verify and change fluorescents and burnt out bulbs;
  • Ensure the interior and exterior cleanliness of the building, including snow removal, grounds maintenance and parking;

Executive chef

Permanent – Full time

Reporting to the Director of Food Services and Maintenance, the Executive Chef is responsible for managing the overall operations of the various food services for the golf course, ski area and hotel. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

MAIN TASKS

  • Contribute to the elaboration of the catering offer for the tourist resort, summer, and winter (golf club-house restaurant, restaurant & cafeteria of the ski resort and hotel, etc.)
  • Develop and create menus according to the vision of Destination Owl’s Head and its clientele (à la carte menus, cafeteria, group menu, etc.) with the help of the on-site cooks;

  • Performs sound management of budgets, purchases, orders, and inventory follow-ups (costs, quantity, and quality) while ensuring price, portion, loss, and theft control;

General Labourer

  • Perform various site maintenance tasks;

Team leader - Food service

Permanent – Full Time

Reporting to the Director of Food Services and Maintenance, the Team Leader will manage his food service team by mobilizing them to achieve objectives. More specifically, and without limitation, you will be called upon to:

 

MAIN TASKS

  • Supervise the operations of the dining room and cafeteria service;
  • Participate in the management of the employees of the food service team;
  • Participate in monitoring performance, compliance, and seasonal performance evaluations of staff;
  • Participate in purchasing, ordering and follow-up of periodic inventories;
  • Balances daily inventory of beer, wine, and other liquor;
  • Balance daily sales;
  • Participate in the management of the service team’s schedules;
  • Apply and enforce hygiene, sanitation and occupational health and safety procedures;
  • Participate in service when required;
  • Ensure collaboration with the kitchen team;
  • Participate in the planning and organization of corporate events (when possible);
  • All other related tasks.

 

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years experience in team management required;
  • Bilingualism, both oral and written (asset);
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Respect for confidentiality, ethics, and respect;
  • Team player;
  • Positive and motivating attitude;
  • Sense of initiative and autonomy.

Waiter / Waitress

Seasonal – Full time – Part time

Reporting to Director of Food Services and Maintenance, the waiter welcomes, guides, informs, and advises guests on food services, products and menus. He takes orders and serves in Owl’s Head dining rooms. More specifically and without being limited to, the waiter will be called upon to:

 

MAIN TASKS

  • Welcome clients;
  • Present the menu, make suggestions, and answer questions about food and beverages;
  • Take orders and pass them on to the kitchen and bar staff;
  • Recommend matching wines to the ordered foods;
  • Serve the food and drink ordered;
  • Receive and handle customer complaints;
  • Enter order in the computer system;
  • Present invoice to clients and collect the amounts due before the client leaves.

 

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Secondary School Diploma DES (asset);
  • Diploma of professional studies (DEP) in catering service (asset);
  • Minimum experience of (six) 6 months in catering (asset);
  • Strong aptitude for customer service;
  • Have a minimum age of 18 years old;
  • Bilingualism (French and English);
  • Speed ​​of execution, accuracy, stress resistance;
  • Physical endurance and ability to work long hours.
