Assistant Superintendent

MAIN TASKS

  • Assist in the management of the maintenance of the golf course, including the adjacent property;
  • Assist in the management of on course workers, including hiring assistance, training, security, employee supervision and schedules;
  • Make recommendations to the Superintendent on the daily condition of the golf course;

Mountain supervisor

Permanent – Full time

Just 1.5 hours from Montreal and 30 minutes from Magog, Owl’s Head offers a spectacular view of Lake Memphremagog and the landscapes of the Eastern Townships in Quebec. For over 50 years, skiing has been king of the mountain, with 50 slopes and acres of glade runs. Along with golfing, hiking, fall colour watching and a marina, the experiences here are many, unique and available year-round. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be called to manage the mountain operations, during summer and winter. In particular, you will be called upon to :

 

MAIN TASKS

SNOW MAKING (WINTER SEASON)
  • Establish and implement various strategic snowmaking scenarios for the winter season, in collaboration with management;
  • Evaluate, plan, and enforce snowmaking strategies on a daily basis;
  • Ensure the start and stop of the snowmaking system;
  • Supervise the state of snowmaking system (mechanical, electrical and control) and address any anomalies;
  • Check and ensure the proper functioning of the operator interface and the operating system in order to optimize the snow production windows at all times on 125 acres of land;
  • Develops, keep a register, and monitors the maintenance plan for the snowmaking system equipment;
  • Solve problematic situations and intervene with the team in the field;
  • Ensure that the materials and equipment used are functional and safe;
  • Produce production, operating and snow depth reports;
  • Report any anomalies to the director;

GROOMING (WINTER SEASON)
  • Establish and implement various strategic grooming scenarios for the winter seasons, in collaboration with management;
  • Ensure the maintenance of the trails according to the established grooming strategies;
  • Ensure that the material and equipment used are functional and safe and report any anomalies on the snow groomers to the manager;
  • Inform the heavy equipment mechanic of anomalies and incidents on the groomers and analyze with him the consequences on future planning;
  • Monitor, in real time, the weather evolution and analyze the consequences on the quality of the tracks in order to adjust the grooming strategy;
  • Control the quality of the team’s work by validating and carrying out spot checks in the field;
  • Produce the reports necessary for the proper functioning of the grooming service;

MOUNTAIN (SUMMER SEASON)

  • Maintain the mountain in a preventive and corrective manner (mowing, seeding, deforestation, etc.);
  • Develop a strategy and a maintenance plan, keep a register, and ensure the control of erosion and sediment throughout the territory by detecting anomalies and carrying out the necessary corrective and preventive work;
  • Ensure the smooth running of the preventive maintenance projects;
  • Clean up ditches, undergrowth, and culverts;
  • Manage slope and snowmaking and system improvement projects;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations on special projects;

ADMINISTRATIVE AND MANAGEMENT TASKS
  • Manage grooming, snowmaking, laborers, and heavy equipment teams;

Waiter / Waitress

Seasonal – Full time – Part time – On call

Reporting to Director of Food Services and Maintenance, the waiter welcomes, guides, informs, and advises guests on food services (including the bar), products and menus. He takes orders and serves in Owl’s Head dining rooms. More specifically and without being limited to, the waiter will be called upon to:

 

MAIN TASKS

  • Welcome clients;
  • Present the menu, make suggestions, and answer questions about food and beverages;
  • Take orders and pass them on to the kitchen and bar staff;
  • Recommend matching wines to the ordered foods;
  • Serve the food and drink ordered;
  • Receive and handle customer complaints;
  • Enter order in the computer system;
  • Present invoice to clients and collect the amounts due before the client leaves.

 

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Secondary School Diploma DES (asset);
  • A diploma of professional studies (DEP) in catering service (asset);
  • Minimum experience of (six) 6 months in catering (asset);
  • Strong aptitude for customer service;
  • Have a minimum age of 18 years old;
  • Bilingualism (French and English);
  • Speed ​​of execution, accuracy, stress resistance;
  • Physical endurance and ability to work long hours.
