Reporting to the Superintendent, you will be called upon to support day-to-day operations on the grounds and to supervise the team in ensuring safe and efficient maintenance of the facilities.

Main tasks
MAIN TASKS:
- Assist in managing the maintenance of the golf course, including surrounding grounds;
- Assist in the management of course employees, including assistance with hiring, training, safety, employee supervision and scheduling;
- Make recommendations to the Superintendent on the daily condition of the golf course;
- Practice and enforce all aspects of Destination Owl's Head's maintenance and health and safety policy;
- Assume the manager's role if the manager is out of town or in meetings;
- Assist in staff training on machinery, including safety procedures;
- Maintain buildings, equipment and property in a professional manner;
- Contribute regularly and accurately to the Superintendent's fertilizer management practices.
Requirements, skills
and qualifications
- Bilingualism, both oral and written
- Previous assistant superintendent experience
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of formal education or a college diploma in turf management or be in the process of obtaining one
- Hold a valid Quebec pesticide certificate or obtain one within 3 months of hiring
- Experience and ease in calibrating, applying and registering fertilizers
- Flexibility, professionalism and attention to detail
- Autonomous, highly organized and able to manage priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills
