An even more efficient snowmaking system

An even more efficient snowmaking system

Mansonville, October 4, 2022 – Destination Owl’s Head invests more than $3.5 million in pumping station and snowmaking

More than $3.5 million has been invested in a new pumping station, which will increase snowmaking productivity by more than 30% in cold weather.

All of the work on the new lake intake, the mountain snowmaking system and the addition of new compressors and a cooling system will allow the station to be much more efficient in marginal temperatures.

Since the acquisition by a group of private investors in 2018, over $14M has been invested in the state-of-the-art snowmaking system, which is both environmentally responsible and far less energy consuming.

In total, 90% of the skiing area is covered with snow, which represents precisely 110 acres of land fed by more than 300 snow guns.
