Kick-off of the 2022-2023 ski season

Kick-off of the 2022-2023 ski season

Mansonville, December 6, 2022 – It is with great excitement that we announce the opening of the resort on Saturday, December 10 at 9:00 am for all season pass holders.

“We wish to offer this privilege to our members and give them the first weekend. Starting at 9:00 am on Saturday December 10th, we will welcome our members with free hot chocolate and coffee. Door prizes will be offered to the first skiers. Also, until December 24th, all types of memberships are accepted” says Katrine Scott, Director of Sales and Marketing.

Schedule for the first week of operation

December 10 and 11, 2022: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., open to all season pass holders only
December 12, 13 and 14: Closed
December 15, 2022: OFFICIAL OPENING!
December 17, 2022: OPENING EVENT: music, entertainment, gifts, etc.

At the opening on Saturday, December 10, the Summit Chairlift will be open and subscribers will be able to ski the top of Lilly’s Leap, Petite Allée, Porc Epic and Bambi Crossing.

“Despite the marginal temperatures, we are very pleased with the results of our new pump station in both the quantity and quality of snow being made. We are hoping that Mother Nature will provide us with cold temperatures to maximize the snowmaking by the official opening on December 15,” said Jean-Guy Dubois, Director of Operations.

More than $3.5 million was invested this year in a new pumping station, which will allow Owl’s Head to increase its snowmaking productivity by more than 30%.

All of the work on the new lake intake, the on-mountain snowmaking system and the addition of new compressors and a cooling system will make the station much more efficient.

Owl’s Head is now in full swing and the members of the organization wish you a great ski season.
