INVESTMENT of $500,000 – MORE PRODUCTIVE AND EFFICIENT

INVESTMENT of $500,000 – MORE PRODUCTIVE AND EFFICIENT

Mansonville, April 17, 2023 – Destination Owl’s Head awarded $100,000 in grants.

It is with great pride that we have been awarded a grant of $100,000 for the purchase of a new groomer and a depth gauge.

This project was made possible thanks to the financial support of Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) granted to the Quebec Ski Association (ASSQ) to support its members under the Tourism Assistance Fund.

New Groomer

The acquisition of this new groomer from Granby-based manufacturer Prinoth will allow us to replace part of our fleet and to offer top-of-the-line grooming quality, thus enhancing the visitor experience.

This acquisition is essential given the additional production capacity of 35% following the modification of the snowmaking system. It is also essential for the development and maintenance of the new snow parks.

The new generation of snow groomers (Tier 4) allows for a sustainable and efficient approach to operations by reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, confirming us as an eco-responsible resort.

Depth Gauge

The depth gauge will allow us to quickly quantify the volume of snow produced. This will prevent the overproduction of unnecessary snow and consequently limit the number of tons of snow drawn per ski season. In addition to producing snow responsibly, we will optimize our energy consumption, always with the goal of environmental awareness.
